Breaking In Your Tires

Modern tires are comprised of many layers of rubber, steel and fabric. Because of these many different components, your new tires require a break-period to ensure you get the maximum performance out of your tires. When tires are made, a release lubricant is applied to the outside to prevent them from sticking in their molds. Due to this, some of the lubricant stays on the surface of your tires when they are new. This can effect the amount of traction your tires will get until it’s completely worn away. We recommend 500 miles of moderate acceleration, cornering and braking. This will allow the lubricant to wear off and allow the other tire components to begin performing as normal.
